Refugee Registry is a tool for connecting all refugees seeking resettlement with lawyers who can provide remote, pro bono legal counsel.

Today’s refugee populations have unprecedented access to information and communication technologies (ICTs) in the form of mobile phones and internet connections. We believe this shift presents an opportunity to change the paradigm of refugee resettlement by granting refugees access to remote, pro-bono legal counsel.

The List: Refugee Registry is built on the foundation established by The List Project, an organization committed to assisting America’s Iraqi allies who are in grave danger because of their affiliation with the United States. Since 2007, The List Project has helped bring over 2,000 Iraqi allies to safety through a groundbreaking program of pro bono legal assistance from hundreds of attorneys at top law firms.

Our SMS-based registration system provides other refugee populations the opportunity to access legal services and connect with journalists and advocates. In the process, we are collecting critical data about refugee populations and bringing transparency and efficiency to the resettlement system.
